PT School Age Teacher (PM)
Lexington Kids is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic part-time school age teacher. The teacher will be in charge of our school age classroom from 3pm-6:15pm nightly and close the center each night Monday through Friday. There are opportunities for additional hours during school release days, summer or as a substitute in one of our five early childhood classrooms (infants through preschool).

Job duties include:
- Ensuring safe arrival for all students from bus stop site with the help of a bus aide
- Serving a USDA-approved snack using safe serving methods
- Planning structured activities and assisting students in completing their homework
- Creating a safe and fun atmosphere for all students including some with special needs
- Positive and enthusiastic parent communication regarding their child's day
- Adhering to Rule 3 licensing guidelines including ensuring sight and sound supervision of all students at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- Rule 3 teacher qualifications (must meet education component)
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs, walk up stairs, ability to observe children by sight and sound.
Preferred Qualifications
- AA or BA degree in elementary or early childhood education (or in progress)
- Experience working with urban youth, program planning, and classroom management

Substitute Teachers
Lexington Kids is always looking for flexible and reliable substitute teachers who are willing to serve in any of our 6 classrooms. Lexington Kids only hires Rule 3 qualified teachers (must meet education component or in progress). Potential Substitutes should be available at least 30 hours per week during our operating hours of 6:30am-6:00pm. This is a great opportunity for students of early childhood or elementary education to gain hand-on classroom experience with a diverse population of learners.

Internship and Observation opportunities
Lexington Kids enjoys having interns and student observers in the classroom. If you are studying early childhood or elementary education, child development or another related field and would like to gain hands-on experience, please submit a request to info@lexingtonkids.net. We have recently hosted students from Concordia University, Northwestern College, St. Paul College and Rasmussen College in our classrooms.
All interns and observers must pass a background study before being allowed to volunteer or observe. We are not able to pay interns, observers, or student teachers at this time.
